One of our most regular and popular support events is hosting playgroups for young prems of different ages and at different stages of development.
Mums Morning Tea
Every Tuesday at 10.30am in the Mums room in NICU. Come and along to chat with one of our Lactation Consultants and other NICU Mums as well as enjoy some home baking provided by one of our ex-NICU Mums.
The Neonatal Trust Developmental Playgroup
Kathryn and Janet would love to see any ex-NICU/SCBU families and babies for our fortnightly playgroup at the Parenting Place, Greenlane which is easily accessible from all parts of Auckland.
Dates for the rest of 2020 are as follows: Thursday 3rd Dec with the Christmas Party on 10 Dec all at 10am to 11.30am. There’s no need to worry about being on time or staying for the whole time, feel free to come and go as works for you and your baby.
- Social Support for parents
- An Occupational therapist who can provide advice regarding developmental milestones and play development
- Developmentally appropriate toys and play equipment
- A safe space for babies who have been discharged from the unit until the age of two
- Preschool siblings are welcome
- Light refreshments
Come along to our Developmental Support group for those in the Hawkes Bay Region! We’ve teamed up with Elen Nathan, an Occupational Therapist at The Playful Place. With her help, we’re now able to provide assistance to more families on a neonatal journey.
This developmental group is FREE and open to all premature and high-risk babies in who have been through a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) and will provide a very valuable service for parents to get crucial free developmental assistance and advice for their babies.

Playgroup with Developmental Support
We’ve teamed up with the School of Physiotheraphy, and along with the help of University of Otago and Pacific Trust Otago, we’re now able to provide assistance to more families on a neonatal journey.
Note: The Dunedin Playgroup is currently taking a break due to exams but we’ll be back next year!
