Introducing Peri – the Earlybird
In late 2017, the Champion Foundation Trust embarked on a very special project for families of children born prematurely. And as a result, we are absolutely delighted to welcome 'Peri Pukeko' to the Champion Centre family. Written by Julie Burgess-Manning and illustrated by Jenny Cooper, 'Earlybird' is both a beautiful and meaningful book.
Peri, like so many of The Champion Centre clients was born prematurely and had his own unique start to life. Peri's journey has been beautifully told in the stunning new children's book Earlybird which has been brought to life thanks to the Champion Foundation Trust and its incredible project supporters The Wright Family Foundation, The Elizabeth Ball Charitable Trust, Blogg Charitable Trust and CERT.
Many people contributed to the publication of this book. In particular we would like to thank the group of parents who shared their experiences of having premature babies to inform the themes within the book. We also extend grateful thanks to Professor Lynne Murray(UK), Professor Linda Wilkerson(US), Dr Denise Guy (NZ), Nathan Wallis (who affiliates to the Takitimu waka) and Kaharau Keogh for their help with content.
For now, sales are only available to New Zealand addresses.  International enquiries should be directed to championfoundationtrust@gmail.com
