Playgroups

One of our most regular and popular support events is hosting playgroups for neonatal graduate babies of different ages and at different stages of development.

AUCKLAND

Mums Morning Tea 

EVERY Tuesday at 10.30am in the Mums room in NICU.  Come and along to chat with one of our Lactation Consultants and other NICU Mums as well as enjoy some home baking provided by one of our ex-NICU Mums.

The Neonatal Trust Developmental Playgroup
Kathryn and Janet would love to see any ex-NICU/SCBU families and babies for our fortnightly playgroup at the Parenting Place, Greenlane which is easily accessible from all parts of Auckland.

Coffee Confidential 
Come along to our free, facilitated coffee group on Friday 6th March where Jen, Mum to ex-24 weeker, will be there to shout you coffee and chat with you about your NICU experience both in the hospital and now you're home.  12.30-2pm at The Parenting Place, Greenlane.
 
WAIKATO
Developmental Playgroup
Two sessions per month starting October 12th & 29th! 
Second Monday of each month from 1pm-2.30pm and last Thursday of each month 10.30am -12noon
Facilitated by Jadey, our ex NICU mum and family support co-ordinator, this group will provide: 
  • Social Support for parents
  • An Occupational therapist who can provide advice regarding developmental milestones and play development
  • Developmentally appropriate toys and play equipment
  • A safe space for babies who have been discharged from the unit until the age of two
  • Preschool siblings are welcome 
  • Light refreshments

HAWKES BAY
Come along to our Developmental Support group for those in the Hawkes Bay Region! We've teamed up with Elen Nathan, an Occupational Therapist at The Playful Place.   With her help, we're now able to provide assistance to more families on a neonatal journey.  
This new developmental group is FREE and open to all premature and high-risk babies in who have been through a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) and will provide a very valuable service for parents to get crucial free ThePlayfulPlace_0.pngdevelopmental assistance and advice for their babies.

Playgroup with Developmental Support
Come along to our Playgroup with Developmental Support for those in the Wellington Region!   Run in conjunction with registered physiotherapist, Kat Wyeth, we're now able to provide assistance to more families on a neonatal journey.  
This new developmental group is FREE and open to all babies in who have been through a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) and will provide a very valuable service for parents to get crucial free developmental assistance and advice for their babies (as well as providing a place for a catch up over a coffee for neonatal mums and dads!)

Run monthly at present on the first Thursday of the month, first one being Thursday 1st October from 10am - 12noon

NICU Dads Coffee Catchup

We're pleased to announce there's now a group for neonatal dads!

Held every fortnight at 6pm on Tuesday evening at Wellington NICU, you'll find Darcy Stott, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or one of his colleagues, host a "NICU Dads Coffee and Catch Up" in the Parent Lounge. Be sure to check our Facebook page for the fortnightly reminders. 

 
DUNEDIN

We are proud to announce a brand new Playgroup with Developmental Support group for those in the Dunedin Region! We've teamed up with the School of Physiotheraphy, and along with the help of University of Otago and Pacific Trust Otage, we're now able to provide assistance to more families on a neonatal journey.  WePlay.png

This new developmental group is FREE and open to all families and preschool children and their caregivers and will provide a very valuable service for parents to get crucial free developmental assistance and advice for their children.
